The Equipment


I use two cameras to shoot with, one being a Nikon D3 and the other being the Nikon D70 as a backup camera. The D3 is simply the best Digital SLR out at the moment for the type of photography I shoot. It’s Capable of taking 12 frames per second so the moment is rarely missed and capable of 12.7 million pixels so the image quality is first class.

I carry four 4GB Scan Disk cards to save the images on. This gives me a very large shooting capacity in JPG format, and quite an impressive capability in NEF which is Nikons equivalent to the RAW format.



I also use two camera lenses, the first being a Nikon 24-70mm f2.8 lens which is great for landscape & portrait shots alike. The second being a 70-200mm f2.8 Nikon lens which is fantastic for getting up close to a subject from a distance. It has the added bonus of ‘VR’ this stands for vibration reduction and is ideal for shooting subjects in low light when combined with the D3.
